happy {101} weekend.

Happy weekend! What are your plans? Josh and I will be on the hunt for a washer and dryer, along with storage for my studio space. I'm stuck on what I want to do in there, but I'm sure when it's 'right', I'll feel it!

I feel super happy that my friend Chelsea of The Vintage Chair thought me cool enough to receive a Happy 101 Award! She's my Indie soul sister and I so enjoy reading her blog; you will too. For the Happy 101 Awards, I'll be sharing ten things that make me happy and ten equally as cool bloggers that I love (ok, way cooler in my book). Here goes!

1. {My little family} Josh and Hank are the light of my life. They pick me up when I'm down, and keep me laughing and smiling. Everyday I feel like the luckiest gal to have them in my life.

This is one of my favorite photos of Josh on our wedding day. *sigh*

And here's how I found little Hankers just this afternoon. He loves to snuggle under the covers.

2. {Old Homes} There's something about being in an old home. The home I grew up in is ancient, perhaps it was living there for most of my life that has me completely smitten with homes from yesteryear. I never, ever, ever want to live in a brand new house; or a cookie cutter development for that matter.

This is hands down one of my favorite old homes in my college town. I dream of living here one day.

3. {Farmer's Markets} I love 'voting' with my fork. I don't like to push my agenda on people, but I think it's important to spend your hard earned dollar on something you believe in. And I believe in awesome tasting food, and giving my money to hard working family farms that will keep me coming back for more. If you need to find a local farmers market, try Local Harvest.

Besides, nothing is better than taking a walk down the street on a sunny Saturday and coming home with bags of fresh goodness!

4. {Fiber Arts} Yes, I know, you know how much I love to knit, but I also enjoy the process of sheep to skein. I've visited quite a few fiber festivals and even had the chance to adopt a little sheep when I visited Feederbrook Farm to play shepardess for a day. Knowing that lovely little lamb provide us with yummy wool to knit with, undoubtedly makes me happy.

Here's my little adopted sheep. Her name is Bean Clarice Mín Bo Agneau (haha, yes, I named her that). It means Mrs. Clarice (get it?) Soft Precious Lamb.

5. {Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania} Forever my heart, forever my home, Pittsburgh will always make me happy. I 'bleed black and gold' (as us Steelers fans say), I love Primanti's, perogies, the 3 rivers, Mr. Rogers, Heinz Ketchup, and I.C. Light.

Like a postcard, but better!

6. {Baseball Season} My family loves baseball, probably more than your family. We're seriously obsessed. I owe my dad for my love of baseball; thanks Dad! Nothing, is better than a Sunday afternoon game, peanuts, beer, hotdogs, and the seventh inning stretch.

Can you tell what team we like? I suprised my dad last year by taking him to opening day at the new stadium.

7. {The Scenic Route} Another thing I owe to my dad (what can I say, he shares my sense of nostalgia), I love taking the scenic route anywhere I go. In college my Dad figured out how to get to my school by taking all two-lane country roads. It's my favorite thing to do, that drive. I miss it so much sometimes. Windows down, radio up, fresh smells and beautiful farmland. Nothing beats a wide open country road.

I swore I wouldn't cry doing this little post; you should know there are tears. I'm such a sap.

8. {My Cousin} Johnna's mom and my mom are sisters and you can say that the women from that side of the family are "something else". Johnna is the closest thing I have to a sister, my friend and confidant. She's the one I call in a crisis and heaven knows we can't stay under our cell phone minutes because we spend an insane amount of time talking every day. I love you cousin.

Here's she and I at The Loopy Ewe, which is in her hometown (lucky duck).

We look stellar, no?

9. {The Life the Army Gives Us} I never thought I'd marry a military man or live this crazy, "hurry up and wait" military life. There are perks and sacrifices, highs and lows, just like a rollercoaster.  But I've spent it so far with a smile on my face and my hands in the air and plan on keeping it that way. This life has allowed me to live in some amazing places and meet some amazing people. I couldn't ask for anything more.

10. {Peace, Tolerance and, Civility} This is probably the thing in life that makes me most happy; as it's how I choose to live. A life of peace, a life of being tolerant and civil towards others. It fills me with happiness inside to know that I control the postive mark I have the ability to leave. Think about it; doesn't everyone deserve to be treated that way?

This is one of my favorite pieces of art ever. Titans of civilty, fighters for equality.

Thanks for reading my little happy list! It made me smile just typing it all out and reminiscing. I now bequeath the Happy 101 Award to these ten amazing bloggers that you should be reading daily! You girls make me happy too!
