eins. zwei. drei.

I happen to really like Lady Gaga; and her new video, Telephone. It's typical over the top, shocking Gaga and I love it. When people talk about "the next Madonna", Gaga is it. She's got the shock, the wardrobe and the fantastic voice to back it up.

What I found interesting was the product placement in the video. I counted three; Virgin Mobile, Polaroid (woohoo!), and Wonder Bread. I actually didn't find it obnoxious, but rather clever. What do you think of the product placement? Clever? Tacky? She also plays to her international fans with Japanese and German subtitles.

It's a whopping nine minutes long, so plenty of time for utterly fabulous costume changes and an crazy story line.

So, Gaga...love? don't love? What's your favorite part of the video? I for one dig her pop can rollers.

Enjoy your Friday, I'm knee deep in packing this morning and headed out to the record store this afternoon! See you back here after lunch.

beep beep.

It's been an extremely busy few days. I have had a moving consultation, a cleaning consultation, knitting club, and tons of packing/organizing to do. On top of it;  the weather been beautiful, so naturally all I want is to be outdoors and spend time with my friends. I've also been wanting to do nothing but blog and craft, but at the end of the night I've been so exhausted I just crash. And, I'm starting to get a sore throat, booo!

But, things are getting done. The house is slowly getting organized, so all the movers will have to do is pack up the boxes nice and neat. The things we will take with travel with are slowly getting put in one place, and our little Hank made it to the vet.

Also...beep beep...guess who got a new set of wheels? This gal. We've been in the market for a snow friendly, newish car for a while and today we brought home this beauty.

I'm not "into" cars, but this is perfect for us and our travels. It gets good mileage and has plenty of room to haul our crap stuff. She'll eventually be mine, but until the Army sends Josh overseas, we'll have to share her. I'm trying to thing of a good name for it, my last car was a Malibu named 'Barbie'. Any ideas?

See you bright and early tomorrow; get ready folks, the weekend is upon us!

busy bee.

I'm sure you can reasonably gather that things here are busy chaotic. There are only four hands here to do what we need to get done, but are we getting it done.

Things a really rolling at this point, but I could use a little encouragement. Give me five thing you are looking forward to this Spring? Get creative.

Here's what I'm looking forward to:

1. My cousin visiting this weekend; he's hilarious.
2. A little going away party with my friends on Saturday.
3. Visiting the beach one, hopefully two, last times.
4. The sunny and adventurous trek to Colorado.
5. Picking up the key to our new ride.

See you back here later tonite.

oh monday.

Is it really as late as my clock says? Oh boy, I've been waiting for a moment to blog all day and now I am so exhausted. Was your Monday full steam ahead like mine? I could really sleep for a week.

Today I....

did a bit of this,

and by the time I left it felt like this outside....

Can you imagine? I wanted to head out here...

But I have way too many things on my to do list. So instead I did a bit of this on my balcony.

and little bit of this, for our move.

You can bet, my room now looks, like this.

A completely beautiful disaster.

Josh and I shared a bit of this.

And now I am so ready for this.

all via we heart it

See you tomorrow. xo.

super {flea} sunday.

Happy {flea} day! It is such a beautiful day here, actually the whole weekend was sunny and warm. Spring is really nipping at winter's heels. Was it pretty in your neighboorhood? I hope so.

I want to say hi to my lovely new readers, and my Indie Business classmates! Seriously, each and every one of my classmates are so inspiring, I adore them already. If you're new to The 60/40, welcome to Super {flea} Sunday, where I show you my {flea} finds and we all oooh and ahhh over them. Who doesn't love that?

This weekend I'm in the process of packing up for our big move and started to gather up all of my vintage books. I haven't shared these beauties before, but they're certainly some of my favorite.

They're all childrens books and the science book, from the 60's, has the most amazing illustrations.

Polly insisted she be allowed in the photo.

Remember when I said I always discover the best places right before I move? Well the used book shop up the street from my house is a hot bed of amazing out of print books. Betty's Sad Teddy Bear is ferociously cute and don't the colors on the front of Heidi just make you swoon?

While I'm a little sad to pack up these pretty {flea} finds I'm excited to find them pretty places in our new home! What finds are your shelf lately? What would you all think of a littel Flickr pool to share our finds?

See you tomorrow for some cuteness.

happy weekend.

I am so excited right this second for one thing. Alice.

Are you? Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are two of my all time favorite books. Charles Dodgson was a pure genuis of literary nonsense. I can't tell you how many times I escaped with Alice when I was feeling crappy. It's a story that gets better with time and age.

But now I'm totally excited to see what sick and twisted things Tim Burton has done with it. I love his willingness to go above and beyond to make things...weird. I like weird. I am weird.

Josh's graduation went off without a hitch, so I'm hoping we can see it tonite with friends. I just hope it's soon, Saturday we are going out with friends and I have a feeling I'll busting this out for karaoke.

What are your weekend plans? Will you be visiting Wonderland? If so let's discuss. I so want to know what you thought! Have a happy one and I'll see you Sunday for the {flea}.

a proud moment.

Morning loves. It's early; a little too early for me. But I'm up, in a pretty skirt, and headed out to see Josh graduate from one of the highest regarded training schools in the military*. I couldn't be more proud of him.

Friends who have become family will be coming to support him (thanks, we love you guys) and after the ceremony we'll head over to the cutest little place for brunch. I'm hoping to score a delicious omelette.

Or these. Yum.

What is your day looking like? I hope whatever you do, it's a beautiful and happy day. Be sure to come back later for a little bit of weekend fun.

* please excuse the vagueness of my talk about army stuff. i will be sticking to opsec privacy guidelines to protect my husband and our troops abroad. for all you non-military savvy loves; "loose ships sink ships" so i will have a giggle trying to keep it as vague as possible; should be fun. i do hope you understand. i hate to even bring it up, but felt the need to explain. done now. *heart* you guys.

all via we heart it

so i had it right the first time. bitch.
(slams door)

I'm feeling so inspired by funny, sunny orange lately. Today is ultra busy, but I'll be back this evening with a little fun. Make today wonderful. xo.

a little cuteness.

I heart little suprises, don't you? My friend Sheena came to knitting with the sweetest little gift for me.

Isn't it the cutest? The little arm moves and there's space in the top for a picture. Thanks Sheena!

Today I also finished up a little list of household projects that I want to accomplish when we get to Colorado. I know, I know, I said less lists this year, but there are so many little things that float through my head that I want to keep track of.

Sometimes a good list is just what you need and besides, this one was fun.

What did you do today?

eco dream.

Before I attended college the 'go green' movement hadn't really started. I was simply trying to get my foot into an architecture/interior design program, so I was an intern at an amazing firm near my home who was on the forefront of eco design. When I saw this firm on Design*Sponge, I was instantly taken back. The cozy outdoor feel in this inside industrial space is breathtaking with the bonus of it being as eco-friendly as possible.

Wood cabinets, wood floors and globes? Hello heaven.
The pipes up above make me smile too. The whole space is just a play on hard and harder. Add a dash of soft linen...do you think they ever have clients who refuse to leave?

What do you think of this living wall? It's exquisite. d*s quips that it's based off a NYC map; so it's exquisite and pure genuis.

I have this affinity for galvanized steel. There is something so soothing about it's clean shiny surface, but seeing it in such an elegant form makes it swoon worthy, no? And...more globes! Yeah!

I quite like the mail sorter too. Knitters, don't you want to shove a rainbow of yarn in each little cubby?

They really had me at this table. It's a bit trippy if you lookt; but it is super smooth and elegant. The more modern chairs are a perfect match. I told Josh he needed to chop me down a tree. (Ha, yeah right).

These people are hardcore into their globes right? Even more than me; I feel like I'd better catch up. I imagine everyone who works here never wants to leave because they're too busy being smitten with their own interiors. I can only hope to be so lucky someday.

If you have a favorite space you've been swooning over lately, leave a link in the comments! I'll be back this afternoon with a few cutesies to share.

wish and wants.

Is it me or is today just ultra busy? I need a little afternoon pick me up to get through the rest of the day. So here's a little list of things I would love, love to snag right now!

1. This super cute vintage beadspread makes me smile.

2. Our one year wedding anniversary is coming up and the traditional gift is paper. I'd love a custom Ashley G print to hang on the wall.

Or this little pretty from Emily Martin; I love her drawings so much.

3. Tea is always on my list but the IngenuiTEA teapot is probably the most amazing thing ever.

4. A pretty planter for some pretty plants.

All these little treasures make me smile. What's on your wishlist these days? See you later this afternoon; I'm going to attempt to make some fabric journals and share them with you.

i need....

...a nap. I've had quite the eventful little day, how about you? It is an amazingly beautiful day here, the kind where you want to open the windows even though it's chilly and snuggle. I think I hear the covers calling my name.
via we heart it....although this could easily be me and hank.

color me monday.

Morning, morning, what are you doing today? I'm off to knit with some of my favorite women.  Later I'm going to pick a little something up for my sweetie, but shhh...it's a secret.

I want to paint my nails this afternoon also. I'm not much of a nailpolish girl, but I picked up this brand called Sula Paint and Peel that I can't wait to try. Literally you peel it off when you want to change colors. Clever right? And look how cute the colors are.

via sula

I took home the deep navy and grey, but would adore having the teal too. Sula says their polishes are free of all kinds of icky things that are in normal polish and you can pop on a top coat so it lasts longer.

Sooo many cute colors are popping up this spring, it makes me smile to see these pretty paint jobs. What's your favorite hue? I'll let you lovies know how the paint and peel turned out. See you soon. xo
